Computational Fluid Flow Model for the Development of an Arterial Bypass Graft

چکیده
Intimal hyperplasia, an aberrant proliferation of smooth muscle cells that causes stenosis and graft occlusion, is the primary cause failure grafts after a few years. In this way, using constructal design method, study looks at how degree, junction angle, diameter ratio affect flow through bypass goes around idealised coronary artery partially blocked. The results show effect by several factors: Stenosis (S), Bypass Attachment Point (L2), Angle (α), Diameter (D1). indicate pressure drop reduced when S low, optimal attachment point L2 = 4 Artery (D), angle α 30°, D1 1.25D.
